Logan Nelson scores compositions that evoke thrilling atmospheres unique to each project. He  was recently named the Best Young International Composer at the World Soundtrack Awards in Ghent, Belgium. Logan attended the festival with Oscar-winning director Barry Jenkins who  named him a “must watch composer.”  

Logan worked closely with Emmy-winning composer, Kris Bowers, as his composition  assistant for two years. With Kris, Logan wrote additional music and managed production on  Netflix’s critically acclaimed Dear White People and ABC’s For the People. Following these  projects, they worked on the Oscar-winning film, Green Book, compiling both the original score  as well as many of the source tracks. Logan also worked at Hans Zimmer’s Remote Control  Productions.  

Logan is recently scored, Origin Stories, a Showtime film about synthetic diamonds that is being  directed by Sundance-winning director, Jason Kohn. Logan is a frequent collaborator of Renan  Ozturk and Taylor Rees, having scored projects with them for National Geographic and SONY.  On the independent side of film, he just scored Straight Up; a romantic comedy starring Randall  Park and Katie Findlay.  

Logan enjoys writing for other mediums, like dance; his piece Into and Out Through, conceived  in collaboration with five choreographers, completed two sold-out performances. He also  produces for the synth-pop duo, LightHouse which was described by Flaunt Magazine as "a  seemingly flawless combination of various synthetics that not only pleases the ears but causes  listeners to get up and dance.” Logan just released his debut EP, Lavender Echoes, on 1631  Recordings and Decca Records.  

Logan attended the University of Southern California where he majored in Music Composition  and minored in Cinematic Arts. At USC, he studied with Pulitzer Prize-finalist Ted Hearne,  Frank Ticheli and BAFTA-winning video game composer, Garry Schyman.
